Environmental Science Excursion

For our Food and Water Security area of study, our Units1+2 Environmental Science class went up to CERES Community Environment park in Brunswick. We tested water from a fresh flowing stream and a man made wetland to see which was healthier. We even got to catch invasive fish from the wetlands and feed them to the chickens to help the frog populations in the park.
On our tour around the park, Mr Murray ate a lot of the vegetation, and picked off some native fruits from a tree for us to try. We learnt about different water quality indicators, the types of freshwater organisms in Victorian basin systems, and how we can be more sustainable in future.
