Grade 4

Our Grade 4 students have had an exciting few weeks filled with creativity, curiosity, and plenty of hands-on learning!
In Reading, we’ve been exploring The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. The students have loved diving into Roz’s adventures, discussing what it means to adapt, survive, and show kindness in unexpected places. Our class discussions have been full of thoughtful insights—and a few passionate debates about robot emotions!
In Writing, we’ve been working on persuasive texts. Students are learning how to use strong arguments, emotive language, and persuasive devices to convince their readers. Whether it’s persuading the class to get a pet robot or arguing for longer recess, they’ve certainly found their voices as young writers.
In Maths, we’ve been learning about 3D shapes. Students have explored how shapes are constructed and how we can combine them to create composite objects. Using blocks and LEGO, they’ve been busy designing, building, and naming shapes based on their features—proof that geometry is much more fun when it’s hands-on!
It’s been wonderful to see the students’ enthusiasm and creativity shine across all learning areas.
