Book Week 2025 – Celebrating 80 Years of Adventures

Last week, our school joined in the celebrations for the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s (CBCA) 80th anniversary of ‘Book Week’. This year’s theme, ‘Book an Adventure’, encouraged students to dive into new stories and explore the exciting worlds that books can take us to. A highlight of the week was our Book Parade on Wednesday 20th August, where students proudly dressed up as their favourite book characters and shared the stories that inspire them. It was a wonderful way to bring our love of reading to life and to celebrate the magic of books together as a community!

Throughout the week, students also read and explored the CBCA shortlisted books. They engaged in creative activities such as discussions, art projects and writing tasks that helped them connect more deeply with the stories and their themes. 

From Jyll and Zelda in 3C:

Hi I am Jyll and I am Zelda and we are from 3C. On Wednesday we had our book parade. Many of the children dressed up as book characters. We all took turns from Year 6 to Prep to walk around the basketball court showing off our fabulous costumes. It was a really fun morning! WE LOVE BOOK WEEK!
