Your CGPS School Council

The current CGPS School Council began our term earlier this year and held our first meeting on March 26. We wanted to take the opportunity in this CGPS newsletter to introduce ourselves to you, and to provide an important update to the school community about how we will be carrying out our work.

From 2025, the CGPS School Council will include subcommittees, to help focus our work on a couple of important areas:

The Fundraising Subcommittee will plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising activities that enhance the educational experience and resources available to students at Carlton Gardens Primary School. This subcommittee will be chaired by Sel Karpat.
The Community Engagement Subcommittee will work to build strong connections within our community at Carlton Gardens Primary School, as well as between the school and its broader community. This subcommittee will be chaired by Sarah Lemons.

Both subcommittees are inviting Expressions of Interest from parents who would like to get involved. You don’t need to be a member of the School Council to participate—just bring your ideas and enthusiasm! If you’re passionate about either of these areas, we’d love to hear from you. Joining a subcommittee is a fantastic way to contribute to the school community and help shape an environment where our children can thrive.
