INFANTS
Term 3 is well and truly up and running, and we have already had a great number of events and lots more to look forward to. Please keep your eyes peeled for times, dates and information in the Newsletters, on Compass and Facebook.
It was fantastic to meet with many of our families last week as part of our Parent/Teacher interviews. These provided the opportunity to have a chat with your child’s teacher about their progress, successes and challenges so far this year as well as discuss any concerns you may have. If for some reason last week did not suit, please make another time with your child’s teacher by contacting the school office. We are all always more than happy to have a chat with you.
This week in our school calendar is always a highlight with our ‘Grandfriends’ visiting and coinciding with our Book Character Parade and Book Fair. Lots of fun seeing all sorts of superheros, magicians, witches, bees, butterflies, bears and other special characters at school on Thursday and sharing their favourite characters and stories with each other. A huge thank you to our Library staff who made all of this happen!
Our students very much enjoyed having our ‘Grandfriends’ visiting us on Thursday. They had fun playing games, reading stories and showing off some of their hard work in the classroom. It was lovely to have so many special visitors joining in for the open classrooms and our book parade. Our Grandfriends then enjoyed a very delicious spread for Morning Tea and coffee prepared by our Stage 6 Food and Hospitality students – a big shout out to Mrs Golden and her team for all the hard work preparing and presenting the tasty treats!
Kindy
Kindergarten students have had an excellent start to Term 3 and have really enjoyed sharing their favourite stories with their classmates as part of our literacy work. We had a such a wide range of favourite stories and spent time identifying if they were fiction or non-fiction, talking about why we liked them and then comparing some of our favourite characters. A favourite ‘reader’ we have in class is ‘Peg Man’. The students have all loved this character and then had a great time becoming their own Peg People. Sometimes it’s the simple things that are the best!
In Mathematics, we have been counting collections and working out ways to count more efficiently and keeping track of our counting as we begin to work with higher numbers, even beyond 100. We have been counting the numbers of days we have been at school and last week we reached 100 days. We celebrated by going on a number search and identifying just some of the ways we are ‘100 Days Smarter’.
We enjoyed making lemon slice with Mrs Corcoran during our cooking lesson last week. It was great to get back in the kitchen and make a delicious treat. We have noticed how our improved fine motor skills and ability to follow instructions is helping us in the kitchen too!
Primary
What a busy and exciting start to the term we have had in our primary school! It has been wonderful to see so many families engaging in the learning journey with us.
We loved seeing lots of you at the recent parent-teacher interviews. If you didn’t get a chance to meet with your child’s teacher and would like to catch up, please don’t hesitate to reach out and arrange a convenient time. We value your partnership in supporting your child’s learning and wellbeing.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming District Athletics event next Friday. We look forward to seeing everyone there and wish all our students the very best as they compete. It’s an excellent opportunity to showcase their skills and have fun with their peers.
We are still on the lookout for a few more parent volunteers to assist on the day, helping out for an hour or so. Your support makes a big difference and is greatly appreciated. If you’re available to lend a hand, please get in touch with the school office.

Year 5/6
Our Year 5 and 6 students recently enjoyed a fantastic two-day camp, filled with memorable activities and learning experiences. The camp provided an excellent opportunity for students to develop their communication, teamwork, and independence skills. From group challenges to outdoor adventures, everyone embraced the spirit of collaboration and resilience, making the most of every moment together.
Teachers and students alike had a wonderful time, stepping outside their comfort zones and building strong connections. It was great to see students supporting and encouraging each other, growing in confidence as they tackled new experiences.
A huge thank you goes to Mr Horne, Miss Groves, and Jayden for coming along and supporting our students throughout the camp. Your enthusiasm and dedication helped make this event such a positive and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
We look forward to seeing our students continue to use the skills they’ve developed at camp as we move forward into the rest of the term!
