Principal's Report
Moving into the middle of a very busy third term, there has been a wide range of learning activities, events, excursions, camps, assemblies and even an Open Night that staff and students have undertaken, as well as welcoming parents into the school to discuss future pathways and possibilities for 2027 and beyond.
The following list provides a snap-shot of the school over the past few weeks and what has been on offer:

Battle of the Bands
The above list highlights just some of the opportunities that students at Oberon have available to them (and these have all occurred in only the past 2-3 weeks!) It also highlights the amount of work teachers and ES staff undertake above and beyond their normal duties to ensure that students have a diverse range of learning opportunities to further their knowledge, be involved in something new or just to explore an area of interest or passion. On top of this, our weekly lunchtime clubs certainly create a school environment where students can access a broad range of activities each and every week. I would like to thank all of our staff for organising and running these events and congratulate all of the students who have been prepared to get involved, making their school life even more interesting by actively participating when these opportunities arise.
In the weeks ahead, student subject selections, electives and potential pathways courses will be finalised for 2027 so that families and their students can prepare for future booklists, potential course fees etc. More details will be provided to students and families later in the term and into early Term 4, as the 2027 timetable begins to take shape.
Families should also be aware that we are currently focusing on ensuring that all students are in correct uniform, as per general school and enrolment expectations. While I recognise that cost of living pressures is prevalent, our school uniform and the expectations surrounding the wearing of it have not changed at any point. Families should note that ensuring students wear our school uniform makes it much easier from a general safety point, when students are out in the yard or traveling within the local community. If there are any legitimate concerns or issues of availability through our uniform store, please contact the school to discuss these matters.
As a final note, all families should be aware that there is a potential further Stop Work action for AEU members on Wednesday 19th August for the entire day. We have been advised by the AEU today that negotiations have re-convened with the government so hopefully an updated In-Principal Agreement occurs in the meantime. We will certainly alert parents and all students should anything change on this front.
