Our KYPP students recently attended the Job Expo at Lardner Park on Tuesday, 28 July. The excursion provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore a wide range of career pathways, engage with industry representatives, and participate in a variety of interactive activities. It was fantastic to see students asking questions, making connections, and gaining insight into future employment and training opportunities.

As part of our classroom learning, students also participated in NAIDOC Week activities by creating handmade clay ornaments. This creative activity encouraged students to celebrate and reflect on the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while expressing their creativity.

Our VET Catering students hosted the staff Soup Lunch on Wednesday, 29 July, which was a great success. Staff loved the delicious meals prepared and served by the students, who demonstrated excellent teamwork, organisation, and hospitality skills throughout the event. We are now looking forward to our upcoming Pasta Lunch in two weeks time.

The KYPP Coffee Cart continues to be a highlight each week, with students building their confidence and practical hospitality skills while providing a fantastic service to staff.

Next Tuesday, students will participate in the "When Gaming Meets Gambling" education session. This informative program aims to increase students' awareness of the similarities between gaming and gambling, it encourages critical thinking, and promotes informed and responsible decision-making.

With so many exciting activities and learning opportunities planned, we are looking forward to a busy and productive month ahead in August!
