Principal Report
It has been a pleasure to welcome everyone back for the start of Term 3. We hope the break provided an opportunity for rest, family time and a reset for the busy term ahead.
Our students have returned settled, positive and ready to learn, which has made for a smooth and focused start across the school. Establishing these strong routines so quickly creates a calm learning environment and sets us up for a successful and engaging term ahead.
Year 4 students have thoroughly enjoyed participating in their swimming program this week, approaching each session with enthusiasm and a willingness to challenge themselves. Programs like this play an important role in building water confidence, strengthening swimming technique and promoting essential safety skills. It has been wonderful to see students supporting one another, celebrating progress and developing greater independence in the water.
Parent/Teacher meetings provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. These conversations are an important part of supporting each child’s learning, allowing us to share progress, celebrate achievements and work together to determine the next steps. We sincerely thank all parents and caregivers who took the time to attend onsite or engage online.
The Junior School Council did a wonderful job hosting today’s “Wear Your Pyjamas to School Day,” bringing a sense of fun and community spirit while raising funds for The Pyjama Foundation. We are incredibly proud of our students for their leadership and compassion in supporting others. Thank you to all families for your contributions and for helping make the day such a success.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful week of celebration next week as Book Week begins. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the joy of reading through a range of fun daily activities designed to spark imagination and a love of books.
Our Book Fair will also be running before & after school, providing families with the chance to explore and purchase a great selection of books while supporting our school. To celebrate the launch of our Book Fair, students will have the option to come dressed up as their favourite book character on Monday 27th July if they would like to.
We would like to sincerely thank our Oatlands School community for your understanding and support during the AEU industrial action yesterday. We appreciate the flexibility and respect shown by our families, which helped ensure the day was managed as smoothly as possible.
