A Time to Reflect and Celebrate

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, it is a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect on all that has been achieved across our College community.

Term 3 has been filled with moments that remind us of the strength, energy and spirit of Mount Carmel. From the Arts Festival and the outstanding production of Beauty and the Beast, to sporting events, camps, learning celebrations and the many everyday achievements of our students, there has been so much to celebrate.

What stands out most, however, is not simply the number of events or accomplishments, but the way our community comes together. Our students have demonstrated courage, resilience and a willingness to have a go. Our staff have continued to give generously of their time, expertise and care. Our parents and families have supported our students and our College in countless ways. These are the things that make Mount Carmel such a special place.

Our theme this year, ‘To Bloom we will…’, has provided a wonderful reminder that growth does not always happen in the same way or at the same pace. Like flowers, each of our students is developing their own strengths, discovering their potential and finding their place within our community. Some achievements are highly visible, while others happen quietly in a classroom, on a playground, in a conversation or through simply having another go.

I am particularly proud of the high expectations our students continue to set for themselves,  academically, creatively, physically and in the way they contribute to others. Excellence at Mount Carmel is not about being the best at everything; it is about striving to be the best version of ourselves and using our gifts in ways that make a difference.

As we prepare for the final term of the year, I encourage our students to take a moment to recognise how far they have come. Growth can sometimes be difficult to see when we are in the middle of it, but when we pause and look back, we can often see just how much has changed.

Thank you to our staff, students and families for another term of commitment, generosity and community. I hope the upcoming holidays provide everyone with an opportunity to rest, reconnect and recharge.

Uniform Reminder

As we prepare for Term 4, a reminder that students are expected to return to school adhering to the College’s uniform expectations. This includes not wearing false nails, false eyelashes or coloured hair. I ask that all families support and respect our uniform standards, which help maintain a consistent sense of identity and belonging across the College.

A further reminder that the old sports uniform will no longer be able to be worn from next year. As we transition fully to our new sports uniform, we ask families not to purchase old sports uniform items second-hand, as these will not be part of the approved uniform in 2027.

Enrolments for 2027 and 2028

A reminder to families that enrolment applications for 2027 should be submitted as soon as possible, as we anticipate waitlists in a number of year levels.

If your child will not be returning to Mount Carmel in 2027, please also be mindful of the 10-week notification requirement outlined in the Enrolment Application.

We are also commencing enrolment interviews for 2028, so please encourage family and friends who may be interested in joining our College to make contact with us early and secure their place. We are always delighted to welcome new families to the Mount Carmel community.
