Crossings & Carpark Concerns

Although we regularly pop reminders in our newsletters about safety, it is most important that all people within our community please take a moment to read the following.

Pedestrian Crossings 

Our carpark has two zebra crossings - The raised zebra crossing in the front church carpark, and the painted zebra crossing between the uniform shop and the school.

There have recently been near misses at both crossings, with drivers not looking and stopping for pedestrians, which is extremely concerning. 

Drivers must exercise caution at all times - from entering our carpark at the church driveway of Montague Road, until passing the ELC driveway on Hillary Crescent.

At both zebra/pedestrian crossings

• Approach slowly. 
• Look for pedestrians walking from both directions (they can sometimes be obscured by the big tree/cars and the uniform shop). 
• All vehicles must give way to pedestrians at all times. 
• Once each crossing is clear, drive through slowly and continue driving slowly.
• From entry at the church driveway until passing the ELC driveway, speed in both lanes is strictly walking pace/10km only at all times, including outside of usual school hours.

Car Park Reminders

• Our carpark is one-way. There is no entry into the carpark from Hillary crescent. Please obey the 'No Entry' signage.
• Students are not to be getting into or out of cars in the right-hand lane, they must alight onto the veranda footpath only. 
• Students are to be collected from the designated Kiss-and-Drop area or in-person only, not in the carpark alongside parked cars.
• Please do not use mobile phones while driving through the car park.  
• Please do not park in the shop/business carpark next door to the school. This is a private carpark reserved for paying customers of these businesses only.

Montague Road Speed Limit

A reminder that Montague Road is a 40km/h zone from 8:00am to 9:30am and 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The reduced speed limit applies only on state school days during these designated morning and afternoon periods.
