Checkmate! Endeavour Chess Team Triumphs

Congratulations to the Endeavour Chess Team for their 1st place win out of fourteen schools in the third round of the Interschool Chess Competition! 

The Chess team brought eleven players to Tyndale Christian School and each player participated in seven rounds. Our top five players who won gold medals were Patrick Jacobs, Vivaan Singh, Henry Nguyen, Joshua Martin, and Hayley Cheng.

Endeavour Musicians Strike Gold at SA Band Championships!

Congratulations to Year 11 student Amee Mann (flute), Year 12 student Rachel Ratsch (saxophone) and old Scholar Patricia Schulz (trombone – class of 2025) who performed in the South Australian Band Championships on Saturday 29 August in the Tea Tree Gully Redbacks. We are pleased to announce that their band won the B Grade title for the second year running! A fantastic achievement – well done girls!

Australian History Competition Awards 2026

In May this year, History students from Years 7 and 10 participated in the annual Australian History Competition (AHC). Nearly 29,000 students across 500 schools competed in this national competition in 2026. 

I am pleased to report that student interest in this competition at Endeavour has remained strong again this year. Participants had to complete fifty challenging multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes. The questions addressed historical knowledge by utilising source analysis skills and were graded from easy to difficult. 

Participation in this competition is voluntary. Twenty Year 10 students chose to participate, as did twenty-seven Year 7 students. 

I am delighted to inform the school community that a number of participants achieved highly in the competition and received the following awards:

YEAR 10:

Merits: Henry Nguyen.

High Distinctions: Kavya Joshi, Thomas Spry

YEAR 7:

Merits: Sakina Adewala, Jamir Evans-Connolly, Deed Mann, Estelle Nunn, Saachi Rao, Gurbaaz Sidhu, Amity Smith

The involvement of these students in the AHC reflects the wonderful work being done by our teaching staff to enthuse students in their studies of History. 

Congratulations to the students who achieved highly in the AHC this year. We look forward to our continued involvement in this worthwhile competition in 2027.

Endeavour College Basketball Grand Final Champions!

If you like your grand finals with drama, determination and a heart-stopping finish, the Endeavour College Under 14 boys certainly delivered!

Facing the 76ers Raiders who are a strong club team packed with great players, our boys knew they were in for a battle. Having split their two previous games against the Raiders this season, there was very little between the teams.

From the opening whistle, it was an absolute cracker. Every Endeavour player stepped up, battled hard and left absolutely nothing in the tank. Cooper, Jude, James, Casper, Seb, Flynn, Emile and Ekam played with incredible energy, determination and, most importantly, as a team.

Cooper had the game of his life and led the scoring with an impressive 20 points before finding himself in the unusual position of having to watch the final five minutes from the bench after fouling out. Endeavour was holding an eight-point lead but then had to dig deep and finish the job without one of our key players.

And dig deep they did.

Casper was outstanding in defence, showing grit and determination all game, while James was busy making his presence felt at both ends of the court, including knocking down a bucket. 

Jude had a game of two halves, scoring well in the 2nd half with the after burners ignited. 

Emile helped himself to a couple of buckets at crucial moments and ran all day long. 

Ekam positioned well to defend and took charge in the attack using his size well. 

Flynn ran like there was no tomorrow and made himself an option drawing the play when he could. 

Seb ran both ways all game, even after time at Pedal-Prix, and made a great defensive impact all game. 

Every player contributed when it mattered most.

Then came the final 1.6 seconds.

We were clinging to a one-point lead when the Raiders coach called a timeout. Our boys just needed to survive one final play. They were so pumped up and focused. Their eyes were fixated on the prize! 

What followed was something straight out of a basketball movie.

A foul was called on Jude for the softest touch on the shooters arm, giving the Raiders three penalty shots with the clock at zero. The players and parents held their collective breath as the Raiders best player stepped up to the line to take the shots.

First shot… MISS.

Second shot… MISS.

Third shot… MISS!

GAME OVER! ENDEAVOUR FOR THE WIN!

The boys (and parents) erupted with elation. The atmosphere was electric, and the celebrations were well and truly deserved. 

The parents were on their feet and so fired up with pride for the game that was played. 

Presentations followed and the boys each received their trophies.

Congratulations to James, who was recently recognised at the Gepps Cross Rams football presentation night, taking home the Most Consistent Award for his outstanding season.

With the Rams competing in the Premiership League this year, only five individual trophies were awarded, making this a fantastic achievement and a wonderful recognition of James’ dedication, reliability and contribution to his team throughout the season.

We’re so proud of James and the commitment he has shown both on and off the field. What a great achievement!
