Intergenerational Program

Our Year 7 Literacy students recently enjoyed another successful Intergenerational Program, building meaningful connections with older members of our community over three enjoyable sessions.

Through interviews, sharing personal stories and treasured items, students and their older friends discovered common interests and gained a deeper appreciation of each other's lives and experiences. They explored how technology has changed across generations, compared everyday items from the past with modern digital tools, and even taught each other new skills, with our older participants teaching the students how to tie a tie, and the Year 7s guiding their partners through some smartphone tips and tricks. The program concluded with playing games from different decades, followed by the presentation of personalised thank-you gifts from the students.

Students spoke warmly of their older partners, describing them as wise, interesting and inspiring. One student shared, 'she was so kind and dear to me,' while another commented, 'he was really entertaining to listen to and talk to.' The program was a wonderful reminder of the power of connection across generations, highlighting that both young and old have valuable experiences, skills and perspectives to share.

A big thank you to this year’s visitors who made the program so special for our students: Robyn, Trish, Mike, Jeremy, Graeme, Aston, Colin, Ian and John. And an acknowledgement to current Year 12 student, Cassie van Mook, (herself a participant in the Intergenerational Program when she was in Year 7) for her barista and assistant-catering services over the three-week program.

Centre Stage Concert

The annual ‘Centre Stage’ concert took place on Wednesday, 16 September in Plaza 1, with music from the school’s Senior Music ensembles. The Big Band kicked off the night with a great rendition of the jazz standard All of Me, and the String Ensemble performed Disney classics Beauty and the Beast, Arabian Nights and a medley from Phantom of the Opera. The Flute Ensemble performed classical pieces such as Spring by Vivaldi and the Vocal Ensemble sung a Capella version of Gotye’s Somebody that I Used to Know, arranged by Pentatonix.

The Rock Band performed Decode by Paramore, and the Year 10 Band did a great job of Ozzy Osborne’s Crazy Train. The Funk Band performed the recent hit So Easy to Fall in Love by Olivia Dean, and an entertaining rendition of Uptown Funk accompanied by Thomas Wake-Dyster and Tatum Williams’ legendary choreography. Finally, the Show Band finished off the night with music from How to Train Your Dragon and Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now. The night was a great success!

Business Innovation Week 2026

Our Year 11 Business Innovation students have worked tirelessly to showcase their business solutions and test the market. 

From Monday, 21 to Wednesday, 23 September, students had the opportunity to put their planning, creativity and entrepreneurial skills into practice by trading within the school community. We also had the privilege of welcoming Illuminate founder Adam Mostogl, along with some of our past students who returned as mentors to provide feedback on their business ideas.

This year, students truly outdid themselves with their innovative ideas, including handy locker kits, 3D-printed fidgets and heightening shoe insoles. Some students even developed impressive app prototypes through experimentation with vibe coding platforms. Other groups chose to solve problems through creative services and activities, including sporting challenges, DJ workshops and driving simulators designed to improve driving instruction for young people.

Business Innovation Week provided students with a valuable opportunity to move beyond the classroom and experience the challenges of running a business. They had to adapt to customer feedback, solve problems as they arose, work as a team and make decisions in a real-world trading environment.

Congratulations to our young entrepreneurs for their hard work, creativity and enthusiasm throughout the week! Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative and helped make the week such a valuable experience for our students.

Game On! 

A Fantastic PE Week at Endeavour

PE Week 2026 was a fantastic success, with perfect weather providing plenty of opportunities for students to get outside, get active and enjoy a range of fun activities throughout the week.

All week, the Mall was packed with students getting involved in Just Dance, with plenty of laughs and friendly competition. Our outdoor volleyball nets were also a huge hit, with students making the most of them at recess and lunch every day. The courts were packed throughout the week as students enjoyed getting active and playing with their friends.

Monday kicked off the week with our highly anticipated Staff vs Students Volleyball game. 

It was a thrilling contest, with the staff taking the first set before the students fought back to win the second. The teachers then stepped up in the third set to secure a big win, taking the match 2–1 and extending their winning streak to five years in a row!

On Tuesday, students had the opportunity to get involved in a couple of fun skill-based challenges. The half-court basketball shooting challenge tested students' accuracy and, on the netball court, students had 30 seconds to see how many shots they could make. Both activities attracted plenty of participants and created some great competition throughout the day.

Wednesday brought another PE Week highlight with the Staff vs Students Netball game. 

The staff put together a dominant performance to claim a 19–12 victory. This gave the staff back-to-back wins for the week and saw them take home the overall Staff vs Students crown after winning both contests.

Thursday morning saw the Intervillage Sport Grand Final take place under the COLA, with Kavel and MacKillop battling it out in a close contest while the rest of the school watched on from the sidelines. In a thrilling finish, MacKillop managed to secure the win with a shot in the final seconds. Later in the day, students could also get involved in a Girls-Only Come and Try Badminton session in the gym, with doubles games and Around the World providing plenty of fun and the chance to win some chocolates!

To finish off the week, Friday featured the Most Soccer Juggles and Crossbar Challenge on the soccer pitch. Plenty of students got involved, showing off their skills and challenging their friends to see who could come out on top.

Overall, PE Week 2026 was an awesome way to finish the term. It was fantastic to see so many students getting outside, being active, trying new activities and enjoying sport with their friends.
