From the Leadership Team

Most mornings, I have the privilege of meeting with all staff for our briefing. 

During this time, we share a devotion, discuss some of the day-to-day operational matters, and celebrate the many wonderful opportunities our students are engaged in. 

Indeed, the smorgasbord of opportunities available to our students is broad and rich, catering to their many different interests, passions and abilities. Mr Baird has already summarised some of our latest results, but here are just some of the other opportunities and achievements that have taken place this term. Like me, I think you will be amazed by just how much has been happening. 

• Our students recently won the national title for the Illuminate Entrepreneurial Challenge. 
• We are the regional Chess champions. 
• One of our debating teams has once again made it through to the State final. 
• Our Pedal Prix students continue to demonstrate the grit and determination required to ride for 24 hours. 
• Our SACSA sports teams had the opportunity to compete in Aussie Rules, Table Tennis, Basketball and Netball. 
• We achieved brilliant results in the Australian Maths Competition and ICAS Science competition. 
• Our Intercol teams competed against Cornerstone College in Boys Football, Boys Soccer, Girls Netball and Girls Basketball. 
• Our students achieved a Gold and a Silver at the South Australian Schools Cup Volleyball. 
• Our musicians had incredible opportunities to develop and showcase their talents through the Centre Stage Concert, as well as visits to our Connected Schools. 
• We welcomed a visit from a real drag car. 
• Students were involved in, or had the opportunity to witness, a major drama production. 
• Intervillage sports continue most Tuesday mornings. 
• We celebrated Book Week through a range of activities. 
• Science Week provided opportunities for students to explore and engage with science beyond the classroom. 
• Students participated in Bible Deep Dive activities, including an excursion. 
• We welcomed Paul Dillon, an expert drug and alcohol educator, who met with our students. 
• Students had the opportunity to cook a restaurant-quality meal for our College Board. 
• Students were involved in the Intergenerational Program, including spending time with some of our local senior citizens. 
• And, of course, there are the myriad of weekly clubs that provide students with opportunities to pursue their interests and develop new skills. 

Our core business is education. Of course, what takes place lesson by lesson is a critical part of that. But wow, what an incredible privilege it is to provide opportunities outside the classroom that allow our students to discover their passions and explore their God-given gifts and abilities. 

Truly, this is our College Mission Statement lived out in the opportunities we provide for our students. What a privilege it is to see our students discovering their passions, developing their God-given gifts, and using those gifts to make a difference in the lives of others.
