Blacktown Zone Cup Football Gala Day

Congratulations to the Wolverines who competed in the Blacktown Zone Cup Football Gala Day. The girls finished 5th in their competition whilst the boys held out for an impressive third place after some very close games.

Joel Byatt

Shout out to race walking superstar Joel Byatt back with some impressive performances this year. 

At the Athletics NSW State Short Walks Championships Joel completed the 10km road walk in 48:00 at an average pace of 4:45/km. He achieved an individual silver medal in the Under 20’s age group.

At the Athletics NSW State Team Race Walking Championships Joel also completed the 10km road walk in 46:47 at an average pace of 4:40/km. He achieved an individual gold in Under 20’s age group and a silver in the Opens age group as he was 2nd across the finish line overall, racing with the Under 20’s plus Opens and Masters age groups.  Joel’s finishing time in this race was an all-time road personal best and 23 seconds from his all-time track personal best of 46:24 earlier in the year. 

Overall, a great achievement from Joel.
