WELLBEING @ WYNDHAM

Career and Wellbeing Expo

The Career and Wellbeing Expo was held on 21st May and featured 20 organisations offering a broad range of youth-focused services. These included representatives from universities, TAFE, employment services, the police, Services Australia, financial and food relief, physical and mental health services, and support for behavioural and substance addictions, young carers, and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The event was well attended and warmly received by students, staff, and our neighbouring school, John Paul II Catholic College.

A special thank you to our event partner, Blacktown Area Community Centres (BACC), whose support played a key role in the success of the day.

Mindful May

Over the month of May we have been spending some time practicing different ways to incorporate mindfulness into our everyday. This is our 4th year of doing Mindful May at Wyndham College and we always find creative fun ways to learn and be involved in activities. We ate fortune cookies, created inkblots, played scissor, paper rock, made "stained glass windows", destroyed things, checked in with some biofeedback, visualised our way to relaxation, and used music to help us focus on one thing at a time.

A HUGE thank you to all of the teachers and students who took part.
