INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

NSW Fisheries Excursion

Life Skills students attended their yearly fishing excursion with Amalia and Alex, Senior Education Officers from NSW Fisheries. The weather held out and the students had a fabulous time.

The workshop was run as part of the Department of Primary Industries program that is free for Inclusive Education students. This clinic is a valuable opportunity for our students to take part in one of the nation's favourite pastimes, whilst at the same time learning recreational fishing skills.

Participants practice knot tying, casting and other fishing skills with help from staff. The fishing clinic is an integration program that makes it easier for people to get out and about in the community while at the same time helping them realise that fishing is something they can do in their own leisure time.

Thanks to our PE teacher Nathan for driving the bus and getting the students there and back safely, and to the Inclusive Education staff that accompany the students every year to enjoy this experience.

Life Skills - Travel Training

On Monday 2nd June Wyndham Inclusive Education students participated in travel training to Rouse Hill Town Centre.  Students also evaluated some work experience options at various retailers and practised skills such as working the self serve checkouts at Big W.

Before heading back to school the students enjoyed a hot chocolate at the cafe where Jimmy ordered and tried his very first hot chocolate!
