Uniform Clarification: Plain Pants and Shorts

Following the Premier's announcement regarding the introduction of non-logo uniform items in Victorian schools, we have noticed students and families pursuing this arrangement before the 2026 implementation. We understand this challenge for families and therefore, have adjusted our practice ahead of next year. However, to ensure consistency with our Uniform Policy, which is currently being reviewed, and maintain our school's standards, we want to clarify what we expect from students and families who choose to wear plain pants or shorts without the DSC logo.

When we refer to plain pants, we are talking about a specific style. The pants should resemble the style of the official DSC uniform pants. They must not be flared, baggy, or have extra features like logos, stripes, or contrasting stitching. Any plain shorts must also be in line with the shorts that have the DSC logo and should not have any extra features.

The same principle applies to the Physical Education (PE) Uniform. If you choose to wear plain black shorts or tracksuit pants they must be inline with the uniform with logos on it. They must not be leggings or have extra features like logos, stripes, or contrasting stitching.

Our uniform supplier (PSW) does have plain pants and shorts that are in line with the requirements. For families who choose to purchase plain pants or shorts from a store other than the uniform shop, please ensure they closely match the style of the official school uniform. Any variations in style, such as flared or wide-leg pants, are not part of our uniform expectations and may result in the consequences associated with not following the uniform policy.

As a reminder, staff will be checking for appropriate uniform as part of their entry routine, with a particular focus on pants at the start of Term 4. Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain our uniform standards.
