Year 9 MyCityPlanning Students Collaborate with Manningham Council on Active Transport Strategy
Our Year 9 MyCityPlanning students have been putting their Design Thinking skills into action through an exciting partnership with Manningham Council. As part of the city’s Active Transport Strategy, students have been working closely with local planners to help create safer, more accessible, and connected spaces for the community.
This initiative is embedded in our Year 9 MYSELF program, which emphasizes Design Thinking and encourages students to tackle real-world challenges. By applying research, problem-solving, and creative thinking, students are gaining valuable insights into urban planning while contributing directly to improving their local environment.
Through this collaboration, our students are not only deepening their understanding of community design but are also making a meaningful impact. This project perfectly illustrates how MYSELF Design Thinking classes empower students to take ownership of their learning through authentic, community-focused projects that matter.
