Anzac Day Service

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Grade 6 student leaders~ Xavier, Katie, Isabel, Levi, Sasha, Jamie, Jumana and William~ for the respectful and moving way they led our ANZAC Day Service last Friday afternoon. They gave up several lunchtimes to prepare their speeches and practise their roles, and their efforts were evident in the confidence, pride and reverence they displayed throughout the service.

We were deeply honoured to welcome our guest speaker, Mr Ross Wiltshire, a former serviceman of the Royal Australian Air Force, who shared his experiences and reflections. He was joined by Bella’s grandfather, Mr John Alexander (Sandy) Pritchard, a Navy veteran who served from 1966–1972, during the Vietnam War aboard HMAS Anzac. Their presence helped bring a powerful sense of history and meaning to our commemoration service. It was also a privilege to have Alice Jordan-Baird MP, Member for Gorton, join us to present our school with a new school flag, a moment of great pride for our community.

We sincerely thank our parents, carers and extended family members for attending our Anzac Day service. Your support helps make these occasions even more meaningful for our students.

Here are some photographs from the event, including poppies and wreaths that our students created. On Anzac Day on Saturday, Mrs Wood attended the Dawn Service at Caroline Springs with JSC leaders and students from Mackellar (captured below).
