From the Classroom

Mandarin
In Foundation, we are learning the names of animals, in Mandarin, and learning how to pronounce them.
Visual Art
In Art, year 1 and 2 students have been inspired by Ken Done’s Barrier Reef Garden, 1984. Students looked at the composition, created borders and filled them with ‘things in the ocean that don’t swim’ and learned about pastel resist by painting a blue dye over the whole lot. They then drew many varieties of fish to cut out and add to the middle section of the composition. Students will use their finished artworks as a springboard for their next project.
Physical Education
The year 3 and 4 students, along with the rest of the school, enjoyed participating in AFL football clinics run by SEDA AFL students at the end of last Term.
Performing Arts
In Performing Arts, the Year 5 & 6 students have been learning how to play the ukulele. They have learnt to play some songs using the chords C, Am and F.
