From the Principal
April 23, 2026
It’s wonderful to welcome everyone back for the new term. I’m looking forward to working together to support our students, our staff, and our wider community. Our strength has always come from the way we partner, and I’m grateful for the care and commitment you bring to our school.
ANZAC DAY
This ANZAC Day, Saturday April 25 we reflect on 110 years since the Gallipoli campaign and commemorate all Australians who have served in times of peace and war.
ANZAC stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces became known as ANZACs. ANZAC Day commemorates the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey, on April 25, 1915, during the First World War.
Our POPS ANZAC service was held today and was ably led by our Year 6 leaders. The service included heartfelt readings and the laying of class wreaths, offering a meaningful moment for students, staff, and families to pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve.
Lest we forget.

LEARNING JOURNALS
All students took home their Learning Journals at the end of term one. These journals encourage students to take pride in their work and reflect on their learning.
The Learning Journal includes assessed work and Victorian Curriculum rubrics. Teachers use these tasks to guide instruction and inform the Academic Reports in Terms 2 and 4.
Please review your child’s work, complete the parent feedback sheet included, and return the journal to school by Friday, April 24.
PA EASTER RAFFLE
Thank You!
A big thank you to the PA for their fantastic work in organising this year’s Easter Raffle. The event was a great success.
Congratulations to the lucky winners of the Easter hampers, we’re sure they were thoroughly enjoyed!

FLU SEASON
As flu season begins, it’s important that we all take steps to look after our own health and the health of those around us. We have several immunocompromised students across the school who rely on our community remaining vigilant and taking preventative measures.
Some ways we can help protect one another include:
Staying home when unwell
Practising good hand hygiene
Covering coughs and sneezes
Considering flu vaccination as one of the protective options available to families
FAMILY LIFE
This year, we’re excited to offer two Family Life sessions for parents, carers and students! The Interrelate Tricky Talks program features two one-hour live presentations that are perfect for sparking conversations about growing up and the exciting changes children go through during pre-adolescence. To learn more about these sessions and how to book them, visit the From the Assistant Principal page. A big thank you to Mrs Bullen for putting together these important sessions for our students and their families!
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Please keep sending me things about your child’s achievements no matter how big or small to share and celebrate with the school community.
This week we’re highlighting our wonderful specialist teachers, Mrs Moore and Mrs Carbone.
