Year 3/4 News

Literacy
This term, we have been focusing on persuasive texts. Students have been exploring the mentor text The Day the Crayons Quit to understand how authors use persuasive devices to express and support their opinions. They have identified techniques such as emotive language, hyperbole and rhetorical questions. Students will also have the opportunity to apply these strategies in their own persuasive writing pieces.
Numeracy
Students have been developing their understanding of multiplication and division through a range of strategies. These include using arrays, creating equal groups, partitioning numbers, and applying the box method. We will now build on these skills by applying them to solve worded problems, helping students make connections between mathematical concepts and real-life situations.
ANZAC Day
Students had the opportunity to learn about and reflect on the significance of ANZAC Day. They engaged in thoughtful discussions about its importance and worked collaboratively to create a wreath, contributing words of gratitude to honour our service men and women.
