We’re off to a great start in music this year at JPII. Students have begun classes with enthusiasm as we have explored some new resources. 

Some classes have been using Kaboom Percussion resources to learn some new stick drumming techniques. We have also been enjoying lots of singing games and using our new stretchy “Group Loop”. 

We have a new favourite song and game called “Birdy Where Is Your Nest?”. For brain breaks, we have been using our scarves to complete “musical tracing maps”. This focuses our minds and bodies, while helping us practice fine motor and writing readiness skills.

Marimba Group (Grades 3-6) and Choir (All year levels) have also started rehearsals again. Please encourage your children to join in with choir -  Tuesday morning in Emmaus during Morning Fitness time. It’s great to start the day with some singing together.
