SUSTAINABILITY NEWS
Hello everyone!
Fun at MGC Pedalathon!
Twenty Year 5/6 students had a fantastic time pedalling for energy at Melbourne Girls’ College, creating energy to power the pedal powered cinema for MGC’s Sustainability Festival. It was lovely to see the older secondary students welcoming our students so enthusiastically, and they even enjoyed an impromptu handstand competition! We are looking forward to partnering with MGC Moore in sustainability activities.
Looking at Trinity’s Sustainability Goals - Resource Smart Schools
Trinity is proud to be a part of CERES’ ResourceSmart Schools, an award-winning Victorian Government program that assists schools to embed sustainability in everything they do.
As part of the program,Trinity is working towards minimising waste, saving energy and water, promoting biodiversity and taking action on climate change to benefit our school and community.
Last week Ms Belinda worked with our mentor from ResourceSmart Schools, to discuss Trinity’s progress. Our mentor was really impressed with the work we have done and actions we have taken so far, like our Compost Ninjas, the Trinity Trash Transformers and our newly installed solar panels. Through the Resource Smart Schools program, Trinity is working towards embedding sustainability in everything we do!
News from the Veggie Patch and Ms Sally
See the beautiful photos from our glorious garden! It’s all happening down in the veggie patches! Zucchinis and tomatoes are ripening and are ready to be harvested, which the students are enjoying immensely! We have two baby watermelons (hoping they will make it to maturity!) and sweetcorn is nearly ready. The students are really enjoying seeing the fruits of their labours.
Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!
