At our school, we are committed to nurturing a calm, safe and faith-filled environment where every child feels valued, respected and ready to learn. Guided by our Positive Behaviours for Learning and the MACS Vision for Engagement, we are focusing on strengthening one of the six key principles, Respectful Behaviours. Whilst we continuously model, teach and encourage respectful behaviours, our whole-school is currently focused on two key behaviours:
Across classrooms, teachers and students are regularly discussing what these behaviours look like, feel like and sound like, helping to develop a shared understanding and consistent expectations. These behaviours support engagement by building positive relationships, encouraging confidence, and creating a calm and orderly learning environment where all students can thrive.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home, reinforcing the importance of respect, kindness and care for others. By working together, we strengthen the partnership between home and school, providing clear and consistent messages that support our students to make positive choices and demonstrate respectful behaviour.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to build a positive learning community.
On Tuesday evening, families were invited to attend a valuable webinar focused on supporting children through big emotions. The session was presented by an experienced psychologist and mother of three, who brought both professional knowledge and real-life understanding to the conversation.
Big feelings are a part of being human. This session was designed to support parents and carers to show up in the most helpful way when their children experience big feelings. The goal was for families to feel more informed, more confident and more empowered in responding to emotional moments at home.
Topics covered during the webinar included:
For families who were unable to attend, the webinar booklet is attached below. It summarises the key information shared and provides practical strategies you can begin using straight away.
Thank you to the families who joined the session. We value our partnership with you as we continue working together to support our children’s wellbeing and emotional development.
