F/1

Over the last few weeks, the F/1 students have been completing a range of assessments, demonstrating all the learning they have completed over the last Semester.
We should all be very proud of their growth and efforts so far this year.
LITERACY
The children have continued to hone their narrative writing skills, responding to pictures to create stories. They've been working hard, segmenting and blending words aloud, to support their spelling during writing time.
SHOW & TELL
This week we have been learning all about the different activities and things that our classmates enjoy. The children have all shown incredible growth in their Show & Tell, conveying information and asking, and responding to their peer's questions with confidence.
NUMERACY
Over the last fornight, we have been exploring addition. The children have been working hard, recalling the language of maths to use worded problems, and number sentences to represent their additive thinking. We have been using concrete materials, such as counters, dominoes, beads, teddy bears and MAB blocks to add number together.
INQUIRY
Our Inquiry over the last two weeks has had the children considering places, and how they develop over time. Using a range of materials, the children worked together to build a small town, with houses, kindergartens, schools and even a Zoo!
Thank you all for your continued support this term. Hopefully everyone enjoys a wonderful weekend.
Keep warm!
Miss Turner
