Pathways & Transitions

HSC Pathways and Careers

It has been an exciting term for Careers and Pathways team, with many fantastic opportunities for our students. We have moved into our new office in the Senior Study Centre and continue updating our space to provide the best career and pathway support for all students.

Term 1 Activities

Year 12 VTAC Presentation

Year 12 students attended a VTAC presentation to gain valuable insights into university applications, course selection, and pathways beyond school.

University Tours and Presentations

· University of Melbourne Tour and Presentation

· Monash University Presentation (Year 12 students)

Year 10 Work Experience

Some of our Year 10 students have already participated in exciting work experience opportunities, receiving fantastic feedback from employers. Earlier this term, students prepared for work experience through Focus Groups, and we encourage all Year 10s to continue seeking valuable opportunities. If you need support, visit the Careers team in the Senior Study Centre.

Career Action Plans (CAPs)

Students in Years 10, 11, and 12 have had the opportunity to complete their Career Action Plans, setting goals and exploring future pathways. It’s been inspiring to see the ambition of our students at Highvale! If you haven’t yet completed your Career Action Plan and uploaded it to Compass, please do so, as it is a crucial step in planning your future.

Individual Pathways Meetings

Our Careers Practitioners, Felicia Giles and Kellie Egan, have been conducting one-on-one meetings with all Year 12 students to ensure they are on track for a successful year and achieving their goals for 2025. Next term, all Year 10 students will have the opportunity to meet with the team to prepare for subject selection.
