St Patrick’s College arts staff were honoured to be involved in the shortlisting process for the highly anticipated Flanagan Art Prize.
Together with other arts professionals, the panel carefully reviewed the 200-plus entries, narrowing it down to an outstanding selection of 98 works from established and emerging artists across Australia. Congratulations to all shortlisted entrants – we look forward to seeing this work come together as an exhibition.
You can join us at the gala opening of the exhibition in the OCA Pavilion on Friday, 21 March, at 7pm. Tickets cost $40 and are available via TryBooking.
The SPC Arts Club is back in full swing, and students have wasted no time diving into creative projects. In just two weeks, members have created artworks on canvas, using unique zentangle patterns to represent themselves through hand designs. This week students have explored the mesmerizing technique of paper marbling, experimenting with colour and fluid movement to produce vibrant, one-of-a-kind designs.
With more exciting projects ahead, Arts Club continues to be a space for creativity, collaboration, and fun. We always welcome new students - every Thursday lunch time in PUR003.
Year 10 Creative Digital Media students have explored surrealism by creating digital collages that blend reality with fantasy. Using the digital tools in Photoshop, students have experimented with unexpected juxtapositions and personal or dreamlike imagery.
