We have an outstanding opportunity for students in Year 7-10 to compete in the Da Vinci Decathlon at SPC on Tuesday, 1 April. So far, we have a variety of secondary schools registered and we need to select SPC teams.
The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition aimed at challenging and engaging students’ minds. Teams of eight students per year level compete across 10 diverse disciplines: engineering, mathematics, code breaking, art and poetry, science, English, ideation, creative producers, cartography, and legacy. It encourages teams to share their knowledge, skills and creativity to develop innovative solutions to all the challenges on the day.
The Da Vinci Decathlon includes regional, state, national, and international competitions and there are progression opportunities for the winners of each year level.
Very few people would be highly skilled in all 10 of the Da Vinci Decathlon events. A competitive team has students with a wide variety of strengths and skills. We are looking for students who are able to contribute significantly in three to five of the tasks to ensure we select a team that is well balanced across all areas.
If your son would like to be considered for a team, he should complete the Expressions of Interest form below by Monday, 3 March.
Please note: Depending on the number of applicants, some selection criteria may apply for us to have the best team of eight students with two reserves.
For further information, please contact SPC's Head of Academic Enrichment & Extension Kathryn Fraser via email: kfraser@stpats.vic.edu.au

Our Year 9 Humanities students enjoyed a class with a difference this week when Member for Western Victoria Region and Old Collegian Joe McCracken (SPC 2003-05) visited the College.
Joe shared his knowledge and experience on a range of topics, including civics, citizenship, politics and public life.
We thank Joe for sharing his insights with our students.
A huge congratulations to our students and staff who have been running in support of 21 Twenty Ones, a men's mental health fundraiser led by Delaney Troon.
While not an official school event, their dedication to this cause highlights the strong sense of community at St Pat's.
Their efforts not only raise awareness for an important issue but also demonstrate the College's values of compassion and support for others. Well done to all involved!

A women's size small Billabong jumper was left at Dobsons retail store in Mair St by a St Pat's mum about a month ago and has not yet been claimed.
If this belongs to you or someone you know, please contact Dobsons as they'd love to unite it with its owner!
Have you captured some great moments from our boys' co-curricular activities? We'd love to see your photos! Whether it's from sport, music, drama or another co-curricular event, please share them with us to help showcase the incredible efforts of our students.
Send your photos to our College Publications Officer Katie Spurgo via email: kspurgo@stpats.vic.edu.au Thank you for your support!
The College has invested in a new mobile app to provide easy access to the Parent Access Module (PAM) and other information about your son/s schooling.
SIMON Everywhere delivers all the functionality of PAM in a mobile app, as well as quick links to the College calendar, website, social media pages, Dobsons (uniform) and more!
Key documents such as the 2025 Booklists and Canteen price list can also be found on SIMON Everywhere under a handy folder called 'Parent Docs'.
To learn more about SIMON Everywhere, which replaces our existing app by Digistorm, please read through the how-to guide below. We encourage all parents and caregivers to download the app.
