EASTER FUN

At Banksia, Easter egg-citement could be felt around the room!

In the lead-up to Easter, the children were bursting with anticipation. Last week, they created adorable Easter sock bunnies using pre-loved socks. The children exercised their agency by choosing colours and selecting different eyes, ribbons, and pom poms, supporting their confidence and sense of pride in their creations. Alongside creativity, this experience offered rich numeracy learning as children compared and matched sizes, explored concepts such as bigger and smaller, pairs, and experimented with positioning features like eyes, noses, mouths, and tails.

The children also made their very own Easter baskets in preparation for the egg hunt. Another highlight was baking our own Easter cookies using special cookie cutters — they were absolutely delicious!

While everyone was happily engaged in indoor play, the Easter Bunny made a sneaky surprise visit and left behind some very special treasures. The children searched high and low, and what a haul it was — a basketful of chocolate eggs!
