NAPLAN

Over the past two weeks, our Year Five students have been putting their learning into practice as they completed their NAPLAN assessments in Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy. These assessments offer a valuable snapshot of each boy’s progress at a particular moment in time. While NAPLAN represents just one test on one day, it provides important information for us as a school and for you as parents.

The shift to Term One testing in recent years has been beneficial, allowing schools and families to receive results earlier in the year. This timely feedback helps teachers tailor their programs to better support the boys in their learning journey.

Our teachers have worked diligently throughout the first seven weeks of term to prepare the boys, not only academically, but also by helping them feel calm, confident, and ready to do their best. As parents, your role is equally important. Showing interest in your son’s efforts and achievements, while avoiding unnecessary pressure, helps create a positive mindset around assessment.

We recognise that NAPLAN can be a stressful experience for some boys. With this in mind, the weekend ahead is a wonderful opportunity to reset. Simple wellbeing strategies can make a meaningful difference: practising gratitude, enjoying physical activity, ensuring plenty of sleep, or engaging in mindful activities such as reading, board games, or playing a musical instrument.

NAPLAN is just one part of your son’s learning story. What matters most is his ongoing growth, resilience, and confidence. We thank you for your continued partnership in supporting him.

God Bless,

Mr James McPherson

Four of our Year 6 students, William O’Kane, Luka Bagnara, Joshua Lim and Harvey Easthope, proudly represented Trinity College at the Synergy Solar Car Challenge, demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork and resilience throughout the day. They applied their STEM skills to design, build and refine their solar cars, embracing the challenges of testing and problem-solving throughout the competition.

While the results were not quite what we had hoped for, the boys showed excellent sportsmanship and a positive attitude, making the most of the experience. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented the College.  Thanks also to Mrs Saraceni for her work in coordinating and facilitating this opportunity for our boys.

Upcoming Performing Arts and JPSSA Summer Sport Photos

Monday – Performing Arts Photos

Boys involved in group photos must wear their summer grey uniform and bring their instrument. Uniforms should be clean and ironed, with polished shoes, no jewellery, and neat, tidy hair in line with College uniform guidelines. Students who would normally wear sports uniform on a Monday must come dressed in their summer grey uniform and bring their sports uniform to change into later. Please note: students in incorrect uniform will be unable to participate in the photo.

Thursday – Summer Sport Photos (Year 5/6 JPSSA Teams)

All students must wear their blue sports uniform for the day and for photos. The only exception is the Cricket A team, who should come to school in their blue sports uniform and then change into their cricket whites for the photo.

Please note: these photos are not available for purchase, however they will be included for viewing in the 2027 College Annual. Thank you for your support.
