Mini Vinnies Hope & Gratitude Fundraising Day – Tuesday 1st July

Dear Families,

We are excited to invite all students and families to participate in a special event hosted by our Grade 5 and 6 Mini Vinnies teams on Tuesday 1st July between 11.30 and 12.30pm – a day filled with fun, giving, and community spirit!

This event is the culmination of our senior students’ Term 2 inquiry into the theme of Hope & Gratitude: Caring for Those in Need, with a focus on supporting our local community. Throughout the term, students have investigated the origins, missions, and local impact of a variety of charities making a real difference to people’s lives, including:

  • Caritas Australia
  • St Vincent De Paul (Vinnies Kitchen)
  • Salvation Army
  • Victorian Homeless Fund
  • Melbourne City Missions
  • Southern Peninsula Community Support Service
  • Save the Children
  • Starlight Children’s Foundation
  • MSFIN (Mums Supporting Families in Need)
  • Royal Children’s Hospital

To support these important causes, our students will be running a range of fundraising activities suitable for all year levels. Students are encouraged to bring along a gold coin (or more) to participate in the following exciting activities:

Ping pong ball in a cup (prizes)

 Make your own bracelet

 Decorate a gift bag

Nut-free cookies & brownies

Flavoured crushed ice drinks

Cupcake decorating

Pancakes for sale

Lucky dip

Basketball Knockout (prizes)

Handball footy (prizes)

Kids Bingo (prizes)

In addition to these, we are also collecting the following items for donation:

A warm, winter coat (in good condition)

A clean, soft toy

We look forward to a joyful and generous day of hope, gratitude, and community support.

🌟 Thank You for Supporting Our St Vinnies Winter Appeal 🌟

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who generously donated to our St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal.

Thanks to your kindness and support, we were able to collect a wonderful range of warm clothing, blankets, food items, and toiletries to help those in need during the colder months. Your contributions have made a real difference to individuals and families in our local community who are doing it tough this winter.

It’s inspiring to see our school community come together in the spirit of compassion, service, and solidarity, and we are so proud of the example our students are witnessing through your generosity.

Thank you again for your support and for living out the values that underpin our school and faith community.

Wishing Our Families a Joyful and Restful Holiday Break

As we come to the end of another term, we pause to give thanks for the many blessings we have shared as a school community — the friendships formed, the lessons learned, and the faith that continues to guide our journey.

To all our families, we thank you for your ongoing support, your encouragement, and the partnership we share in nurturing the hearts and minds of our students. Your presence in our community is truly valued.

As the holidays begin, we hope this time provides you with the opportunity to slow down, reconnect as a family, and enjoy the simple gifts of rest and renewal. Whether you're travelling or staying close to home, we pray your days are filled with joy, laughter, and peace.

May the following prayer accompany you into the holidays:

A Holiday Prayer

Loving God,

We thank You for the term that has passed, for all we have learned and shared.

Bless our families over the holiday break.

Keep us safe in our travels and gentle in our rest.

Fill our days with fun, peace, and togetherness, and may we return renewed and ready to grow once more.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Warm regards,

Jacqui Hayes
