Alfred Hindle, finished 2nd in the 12/13 yr boys Multi-Class and Isabella Willcock finished strongly to finish in the top third of all runners for the 11 yr girls 3km.  Alfred will now progress to the SSV STATE CROSS COUNTRY FINALS finals as a result of finishing in the top 10 in the region race! He will compete as the best in his multi-class category for his age group on Thursday 24th July next term.

Our small school of St Joseph's continues to show promise in so many different areas....sporting and otherwise!! I'm always so proud of them.

In the PE Classes - Gymnastics Choreography (Yr 3-6) and Junior Circuits

The students from Year 3-6 were each given an opportunity to create their own short gymnastic routines this week during their PE lessons. These were then judged by a group of their classmates according to their use of different floor patterns and group shapes, how they connect their gymnastic actions together, their level of cooperation and synchronicity within their routine and the inclusion of rotations, statics, locomotion and landings.  They were awarded marks based on a question rubric to guide them. Ask your child about what they created with their group!  Many Year 3-6 students will continue working on their gymnastics through their training for our GYMSTARS Interschool Competition each Friday afternoon where they will perform 6 routines at Knox Gymnastics Centre against the best in the state.

Meanwhile the Prep to Yr 2 have loved doing a large variety of gymnastic circuits exploring side and front vault, forward rolls, handstands and cartwheels, bars and rings, jumps and landings, parallel bars, beam routines and so much more!  They have one more gymnastics lesson tomorrow to complete their gymnastics unit for the term.
