Award Recipients

At our most recent Year 8 assembly, we were proud to present our first Hawk Award for the year. The Hawk Award recognises students who consistently demonstrate the Horsham College values of care, character, collaboration and commitment.

We want to congratulate Ranger Uebergang, the recipient of our first Hawk Award for 2026. Ranger was recognised for his outstanding efforts at the swimming sports carnival, earning seven College Values Awards so far this year, and for consistently displaying excellent behaviour both in and out of the classroom. Well done, Ranger.

We also congratulate Cooper Hennessy, who received a canteen voucher for receiving nine College Values Awards, the highest number in the year level to date. This is an outstanding effort.

Year 8 Class Spotlight

Our Year 8 Outdoor Education students have been exploring what the Great Outdoors means to them, while identifying a range of outdoor recreational activities. As part of this learning, students had the opportunity to try their hand at archery, a fantastic way to build focus, coordination and confidence while connecting with the outdoors.

Meanwhile, Year 8 Netball students have been developing their skills, with a focus on footwork, defending, shooting technique and passing. Through a range of skill-based drills, students have been refining their technique and then applying their developing skills in game situations. Below, you’ll see our students working hard as they practise their defensive footwork.

Swimming Sports Age Champs

A big congratulations to Luella Burke and Ranger Uebergang, who were crowned age-group champions at our swimming sports. 

We are proud of the efforts made by Year 8 students to get involved with the day, whether that be competing in the novelty events, swimming in races, or enjoying the activities outside of the pool on offer. 

Spare Locker Keys

Please be reminded to hand in your spare locker keys to the Year 8 office. It is Week 6, and we have already cut off many locks. On the flip side, please make sure that your locker has a lock on it. Your spare locker key is not useful if it is locked in your locker!
