Our school grounds are becoming even more vibrant this week! We are excited to welcome back artist Lauren Green to complete the third and final stage of the School Council/Fundraising ‘Diversity Project’ commenced in 2025.
Lauren is currently working on the portable wall opposite the outdoor piano. This final mural celebrates our diverse landscape, featuring a stunning blend of sky, land, and sea. Keep an eye out for some of our local native species, including, from the Land & Sky: Black Cockies, Blue Fairy Wrens, Pygmy Possums, and even a Frill Neck Lizard for fun! From the Sea: Leafy Sea Dragons, Blue Groper fish, and Bottlenose Dolphins. Flora: The beautiful Acacia and Red River Eucalyptus Gums, Grevilleas, and Banksia. Lauren welcomed all students to say hello and interact with her while she worked, happily chatting about her passion for art, her love of nature, and the inspiration behind this project.
As we settle back into the rhythm of the school this term, we want to share a gentle reminder regarding student safety and supervision once the school day concludes. We love seeing our community connect at the end of the day, but we must ensure every child is safe and accounted for as the afternoon progresses.
Our teachers provide active supervision on the playground until 3:30 pm. When the second bell rings at this time, it signals the end of formal playground supervision.
To keep everyone safe, please note the following:
- Heading Home: If your child walks or rides home independently, please remind them that they must depart the school grounds by 3:30 pm.
- Unsupervised Students: For safety reasons, any student remaining on the grounds after 3:30 pm without a supervising adult will be guided to the front office to wait for collection.
- A Shared Space: After school hours, our grounds become quite busy! We host several external hirers, including Team Kids, Kelly Sports, Netball and the Soccer Academy, who require the space to run their programs safely for the children in their care.
How You Can Help
We understand that the playground is a wonderful place for a quick "catch-up" with other parents. To help us transition the school to our after-school providers, we kindly ask that all families depart the grounds promptly at 3:30 pm.
We appreciate your cooperation and your commitment to keeping our school a safe environment for all our students.
Wishing all of our students and families a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
