Co-curricular Sport Term 4 Information
The final round for Term 4 sport will take place this Saturday 22 November. We wish our teams all the best for their final games and thank all students for the wonderful commitment and sportsmanship shown this term, all teams were a credit to Loreto.
This year we had many old scholars and parents who strengthened our sports program by giving up their time to coach and share their expertise with our students—a huge thank you to these individuals. Thank you also to the many people who have generously supported the co-curricular program this year, such as the students, coaches, teachers, and venue supervisors. Thank you also to our Loreto parents for supporting their children in so many ways and giving them the opportunity to participate in these sporting events.
Melbourne Head Rowing Regatta
Congratulations to our talented rowers on their wonderful performances at the Melbourne Head Rowing Regatta! It was also a fantastic opportunity for our crews to take out our recently purchased boat for its first major event. Thank you to our dedicated parents and to coaches Dario and Madi for their incredible support.

Hoop Dreams
Our Year 3/4 Slam Dunkers basketball team had a thrilling tie with Scotch five weeks ago so were excited to face them again this Wednesday.
In the re-match we were ON from the opening tip off. Helen was dazzling with her dribbling skills, often taking the ball the full length of the court. Her shooting was also incredibly accurate, and even when she briefly lost her bearings on one play, she recovered with great composure and kept the momentum going. Ruby nailed both of her free throws. Georgia shot a couple of great goals and unveiled a celebratory “pink unicorn” dance that she’d been perfecting on the sidelines. The whole team defended vigorously, the only lapses occurring when they’d occasionally lose concentration and break into the aerobics routine they’ve been practising.
This time we ran out winners, 14-6. Well done girls! It’s great to see such rapid improvement.
Lightning Crashes
When you spend all week looking forward to your Friday night netball game… and then news arrives that your match has been cancelled due to lightning.
