Junior Learning Community

Year 2
We hope you enjoyed reading and celebrating your child’s wonderful achievements and growth in their Semester One report. The children have worked very hard, and we look forward to seeing all they can achieve in Semester Two. It is shaping up to be an exciting term with much to look forward to.
Many assessments have been completed over the past few weeks, and we commend the students on their open-mindedness and determination during this time.
The children have now completed all units of learning for Term 2 in Mathematics, Literacy, Religion, and Inquiry, and are ready to begin new learning and topics in Term 3.
It is important that the children continue to practise reading and writing their tricky words over the school holidays. Each child has a copy of these in their blue reading folder. As well as this, children are encouraged to read.
Mrs Hyde will be on Long Service Leave for Week 1 of Term 3. We warmly welcome Mrs Tilley to Year 2 for this time.
We wish all our students and their families a very safe and happy school holiday and look forward to seeing everyone in Term 3.
With thanks,
Mrs Hyde and Mrs Nye.
Year 1
This term has been filled with exciting learning across all subject areas!
In Literacy, we completed our learning about the split digraph a_e, better known as the Bossy E. Students, also wrote an engaging information report about spiders, where they practised researching, organising facts, and using connective words to write more complex sentences.
In Mathematics, we wrapped up our measurement unit by exploring time and duration. Students developed their understanding of events that happen during the day and night and solving real-life time problems.
During Religious Education, we shared stories and special memories as we explored the themes of grief and loss. These thoughtful discussions helped students build empathy, compassion, and understanding.
In Digital Technologies, students became experts at using our new school computers, developing their confidence and independence with a range of digital skills.
We have packed an incredible amount of learning into this term, and we are so proud of the enthusiasm, resilience, and growth each student has shown. We hope everyone has a wonderful and well-deserved holiday break!
