Welcome to Term 3 Week 3

Can you believe we are at the end of July?!! How fast time is going! The school is buzzing with learning and excitement! 

I was very surprised last week when the whole school helped me celebrate my birthday! I thank everyone for the best wishes.

School Swimming Program

Our swimming program concluded on Thursday. I am always amazed at the progress that our students make during the intensive program. We have some fantastic swimmers amongst us!

Thank you to all families- I know it is challenging to get towels and bathers dry overnight, ready to go again! Thank you also to our band of adults who came along to the pool to support students. There are too many to name, but I must do a BIG 'Thank you' to Kelly. As a parent to 4 students, Kelly has spent her mornings at the pool since last Tuesday! Not only was she a great support, but she also had backup goggles, spare undies and anything else that might have been forgotten! We really appreciate you going above and beyond, Kelly!

Student-Led Learning Conversations

Thank you also to all families for celebrating the achievements of students during our Student-Led Learning Conversations on Thursday. It is always affirming when students can articulate their learning to families and identify the next steps in making progress in the various learning areas.

Concert

Our concert will be held on Tuesday 1 September at Sacred Heart College, Oakleigh. Letters have been sent home regarding costume requirements. Please see your class teacher if you have not received this information.

This is a great occasion to share the creative talents of our students and we look forward to sharing this event with you all!

Students at St Peter's School do not need a ticket, but all adults and non- St Peter's children (e.g older siblings) are required to book. Tickets are available for $10. There is no charge for any younger children not requiring their own seat. 

Together We Walk

On Monday 3 August we will be raising funds  for the Opening the Doors Foundation. Students are invited to wear black, red or yellow and bring a gold coin donation. We will complete a walk around the block starting at 2:10pm.

2027 Planning

That time of year has come round again where I am budgeting for next year. It is really important that you let us know if your plans include moving away from St Peter's School. Please email office@spclayton.catholic.edu.au by 31 July to let us know if your child will not be returning in 2027.

We realise that plans change, but we ask that as soon you know (if you are looking at buying a house, job location will be moving...), then please let us know.

As always I encourage you to carefully read each page of our newsletter. You will find some information around Book Week, the importance of attendance - including arriving before 8:50am and not leaving before 3:10pm.
