Student Celebration

U/14 Girls Rugby Team

Our U/14 Girls Rugby Team began the Term on a high note with an undefeated record at the Western Metro Regional Rugby 9s Competition. Their string of dominant performances elevated the School to the state competition which was held in Week in 8. The team were again successful at the next level completing a gentleman's sweep of the competition with 3 wins and 1 draw. This powerhouse of a team conceded no defeats in both competitions winning the State Final by a very convincing 26 - 6 score against Fountain Gate Secondary College who they drew with in the pool stages. Though the wins and scores were amazing and worthy of praise, the girls leadership, composure and ability to elevate each other when discouraged was just as special. It has been awesome to see the growth of these young ladies both as players and as individuals.

Bring on the next competition!

Amber Walker

WOW what a night on the Catwalk at Kangan Institutes annual fashion parade.

Enchanted Fashion Show 2024.

On the 19th of November, Julie Read alongside Amber Walker in Year 11, her parents and friend, witnessed a very special evening. The group attended the Kangan Institure's Annual Fashion Parade dubbed the 'Enchanted Fashion Show' 2024.

Amber Walker entered and won a young designer competition a Kangan Institute's Fashion Department in Term 3. She was one of only three students in Victoria to receive this award. Her prize included two workshops at Kangan Institute in the Fashion Department and the opportunity to see her design, a mythical fantasy-inspired dress, brought to life by the Institute's trainers and showcased on the catwalk at the 2024 Kangan Enchanted Fashion Show.

The pictures below is the garment she design for the competition on the catwalk.

Andrew Nielson

Congratulations to Andrew Nielson of Year 11C who won the Murray Bridge Classic Youth Title in October. This now puts Andrew at the top of the World Darts Federation Boys Rankings in Australia and is a testament to his hard work in this space.

This is a huge achievement and another demonstration of our students doing great things outside of the classroom.

8B Art Class

Over the past two weeks, 8B has been experimenting with watercolours. This is quite a challenging medium to master, but so far, our wonder students have been working hard to create some beautiful artwork. Our teams were seasons and botanical, and here are a few fantastic examples of what our students can achieve when they try and persevere.

Well done Keedan Evens, Tanja Kalaba and Fatima Kamara from 8B I am so proud of you all.
