Empowering Young Readers: A Glimpse into Our Reading Advisory Group

This term, we have started a junior Reading Advisory Group, where their main goal has been to inspire a love of reading throughout the school and recommend books to their peers. Their enthusiasm for literature has driven them share their reading experiences and suggestions with others.

The group has been focused on encouraging a reading culture within the school, helping to spark interest in books among all students. By recommending a wide range of titles they aim to broaden their peers’ literary horizons and introduce them to books that might not have been on their radar otherwise.

One of the group’s key activities this term has been creating personalised book recommendations for the school community. The students will be working together to put together lists of books for different interests, whether it's young adult fiction, historical narratives, or thought-provoking nonfiction. They will also be organising fun book-related events and activities, including themed book displays and “reading challenges,” to make reading more accessible and fun for everyone.

As we look ahead to next year, we’re excited to see how the Reading Advisory Group continues to grow. Their passion for reading and their dedication to encouraging others to read will make a significant difference in our school community, and we look forward to seeing how they’ll continue to shape the reading culture here.
