Careers Expo and Course Information Night

In no time at all, it seems, we are in the second half of Term 2 and getting close to the middle of the school year. And this is the time in schools when thoughts start turning to next year, whether it be subject choices or the pathways available beyond Year 12.

To support these decision-making processes, the College invites students and families to attend the Careers Expo & Course Information Night, where they can explore future pathways, speak directly with industry professionals, and gather information to help inform subject selections, tertiary study options, apprenticeships, traineeships and career planning.

The Expo will be held on Tuesday 16 June, from 5:00pm – 8.00pm and will feature representatives from a broad range of post-school education providers, training organisations and industry sectors. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with universities including Flinders University and Adelaide University, and Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers including the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Education Centre (ANMEC), TAFE SA, and the Adelaide Institute of Business and Technology.

Students will also be able to learn about career opportunities from industry representatives, including the Australian Defence Force (ADF), South Australia Police (SAPOL), and professionals from the trades and construction sector. These exhibitors will provide first-hand insights into career pathways, training requirements, employment opportunities and industry expectations.

Providers will have booths with staff present to talk through possibilities, give advice and share booklets and other information on the variety of pathways and courses they offer.

Whether students are considering university, vocational education, apprenticeships, traineeships or direct entry into the workforce, the Careers Expo offers an excellent opportunity to ask questions, gather information and explore the many pathways available after school.

The other aspect of the evening is College-based information on the course counselling process, subject selection, the SACE and VET.  The format of the night has been designed for families to be able to attend the sessions they need to as well as browse the Careers Expo.  This evening is the place for students to ask about specific subjects and hear about the SACE and VET programs. This event is essential for all students moving into Years 10-12 in 2027.
