Celebrating Our New Village Crests

At Endeavour College, our Village system plays an important role in building community, belonging, and school spirit. This term, an exciting project has brought together students, Village leaders, Heads of Village, and our Marketing team to create a new visual identity for each of our eight Villages.

The project challenged students to explore the history and legacy of the remarkable individuals for whom our Villages are named. Through research and discussion, students investigated the achievements, values, and contributions of these influential Australians and considered how their stories continue to inspire our community today.

Working collaboratively, students presented their findings and proposed symbols and design elements that best reflected the unique character of their Village. These ideas were then developed into a series of professionally designed crests that capture both the individuality of each Village and their connection to the broader Endeavour College family.

The newly created crests incorporate meaningful symbolism linked to the achievements and values of each namesake. From scientific discovery and artistic excellence to courage, service, exploration and leadership, the designs provide a visual representation of the qualities we seek to foster in our students.

We are incredibly proud of the students who contributed their creativity, research, and enthusiasm to this project. The new Village crests are more than just symbols; they tell stories, celebrate heritage, and reflect the values that continue to shape our Endeavour community.

We look forward to seeing the new crests proudly displayed across the College and becoming a lasting part of our Village traditions for years to come.

The project has also extended into the Junior School, where Villages have been grouped under broader themes that encourage students to identify with shared characteristics and aspirations:

  • Explorers – inspired by Heysen and Mawson
  • Pioneers – inspired by Mitchell and Kavel
  • Innovators – inspired by Spence and MacKillop
  • Discoverers – inspired by Florey and Litchfield

These themes provide younger students with an accessible connection to the stories and values represented within our Village structure while strengthening a sense of identity and belonging across the College.
