YMCA Youth Parliament

Mr Dean Moss and students

This year, John Fawkner College was proudly represented at the YMCA Youth Parliament 2025 by three exceptional student delegates: Hamayle Asmat, Maryam Nasim, and Helal Beirouti. The students put a bill forward for "lowering the age of provisional licenses in Victoria " which has been passed by Youth parliament and will be heard in state parliament.

These passionate and articulate young leaders took to the floor of Victoria’s Parliament House, joining other youth representatives from across the state to debate real issues and advocate for meaningful change.  We congratulate them on their remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing where their leadership takes them next!

Mr Dean Moss

“Youth parliament didn't just give us a seat in Parliament- it gave us the opportunity to speak for all the unheard voices of young people and we made sure those voices were heard” - Hamayle Asmat
