BookClub

Our second last Book Club Catalogue for the year is out and orders are due back now. Issue 7 traditionally has some fantastic deals and Christmas gift ideas, and this issue also has three free books on offer. You can browse the catalogue here, Scholastic Book Club Catalogue, and orders can easily be made online. Book Club is a great way to support your students' reading as well as earn points for our school which enables us to purchase books for everyone to enjoy.  Please support it if you can.

Library Lessons

This term in library, students are exploring the theme 'Create'. In Foundation the stories are about nature and the environment. They will create a class collage of plants and animals. The Years 1 and 2 students are listening to fun dragon stories. They will create a dragon in the style of one of our books. Years 3 and 4 students are investigating fractured fairytales and at the end they will create their own paper bag story.  The Years 5 and 6 students are looking at books which represent them or the person they want to be. The idea of books as mirrors or windows will lead them to create images to represent their life now and into the future.

Preparing for the end of the year

We have been really pleased with the effort and accountability shown by a lot of students getting their overdue books back to us after the holidays.  We regularly let our students know if they have a book that needs to come back and appreciate the support from home to find things that are being tricky to find. We currently still have 173 overdue books and will soon be starting to work on our end of year stock take. If your student has a book that needs to come back we ask if you could please deal with this as soon as possible.

Community puzzle

Our lunchtime visitors have been working on a Where's Wally jigsaw in the library which has been proving very tricky.
