Walert News
Over the past four weeks, the Walert group have been extending on their strong interest in collage, which until now has been explored using paper and other 2D materials. We have begun to incorporate 3D materials and have combined these with PVA, coloured tape, Posca pens and paint sticks, which has led to some wonderful creations! It's great to see many of the children being equally as inventive and creative with boxes, tubes and reels as they have been with paper. Many of these 3D materials are discarded factory off-cuts and waste materials, which has opened up some great conversations around repurposing materials and sustainability.
Last month, we were very lucky to have a visit from the Melbourne Museum's outreach program, who brought their Dinosaurs and Fossils workshop to us. The children become palaeontologists using drama and mime to go on fact finding missions while learning more about triceratops, brachiosaurus, T-Rex and fossils from long ago.
