你好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families,

Our Year 1 students have been busy learning all about time! In Maths, we have been learning to read analogue clocks and tell the time to o’clock and half past. We have been practising with clocks and making connections between telling the time and our everyday routines. Telling the time is an important everyday life skill, so we encourage families to continue practising at home. Talking about what time things happen throughout the day, asking your child to read the clock or finding o’clock and half past times together are simple ways to reinforce our classroom learning.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Tim, Shirin and Anil for visiting our classroom and taking us on some very special journeys through time.

Tim took us on an incredible time-travel journey into the future, sharing his knowledge and experiences from building rockets and working with NASA. We learnt about how transport may change in the future and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.

Shirin and Anil introduced us to Jelly and Jam, who took us back in time to discover how people communicated before the technology we have today. The students loved exploring the ways people shared messages and information in the past and comparing these with how we communicate today. What a wonderful way to bring our learning about time, communication and transport to life!

Reminders:

Hats are back! Just a reminder that students are to wear hats during lunch and recess play. If your child brings their hat home during the week, please ensure that is it placed back in their bags for the following day.
Reminder to please leave toys at home.
Please bring in a boxes of tissues for your class if you are willing and able.
School uniform colours are navy blue and orange. Please ensure your child clothing is of these colours, including Jackets.
No Junior school Pupil of the Week this week as there are no more Junior School assemblies before the end of term.
