Careers

Our students have continued to build valuable career and workplace skills throughout the year through a range of exciting opportunities and experiences.

In July, students attended the Careers Expo at the new Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre, where they had the opportunity to explore a variety of industries, workplaces and future pathways. Students were able to speak with employers, training organisations and community services while learning more about the possibilities available to them after school.

Students have also continued their work experience at Cloverdale Community, developing their confidence, communication skills and understanding of workplace expectations. Our students participating in the Wright of Passage Boat Building Program have been gaining practical skills and working as part of a team while learning about boat building and construction.

Our Make and Bake SBAT program has also continued, providing students with valuable hands-on experience in hospitality and food preparation while developing their independence and employability skills.

More recently, students participated in a workplace site visit to Pulse FM, giving them the opportunity to explore the world of radio and learn about the different roles involved in running a radio station.

These experiences are an important part of preparing our students for life after school and supporting them to discover their strengths, interests and future pathways.
