News from Year Six

Madagascar Jr Production

Small group rehearsals are now being replaced by large, longer rehearsals as all the parts of the production are put together.  This means that our senior students are getting the feel of sharing the stage with lots of other students.  We discovered that some of us still need some extra practise at memorising our lines and our song lyrics. It would be great if parents could help their students with this over the next week.

Next week, we will be having a whole school rehearsal on Wednesday and Friday.  Please ensure all students are present on these days.

Students will need to bring a pair of thongs/slides to wear during dress rehearsals and performances.  Please name them first and then send them to school in a bag.

Madagascar Bazaar

As you are aware, our students have been creating products to sell at the production with all proceeds going to charity.  Check out our school facebook page to see the advertisements that students created for these products.

Book Week

The Year 6s did a great job of getting into the spirit of Book Week and dressing up as characters for the Book Week Parade.  Congratulations to Grady, who represented the much-quoted (in Year 6 this year) Lorax.

Using Zoom technology, we were visited by Michael Salmon, children's author and illustrator, who talked about the inspiration for some of his books and demonstrated some of his illustrating techniques.  Children enjoyed having a go at drawing in his cartoon style.

Here are some of their efforts:

Thanks to Mrs Hendriks for organising this.
