School Sport 

State Cross Country - 21st July

Today I went to the state cross country final. I felt really nervous during the car ride there. It was a one-and-a-half-hour drive. When I got there, I got my race number and warmed up. Then it was marshalling and they called my age group. There were 115 boys in my heat. We all sat down in chairs and then we walked to the start line and I was so scared. In the end I came 91st with a time of 12 minutes and 26 seconds.

Year 7 Table Tennis - 23rd July

Today we went to table tennis, it was very fun, engaging and competative.  Ashmeat, Nirvan, Samdeash, Zareef and I tried very hard.  We came second.  Mr Yao was a great coach and under his coaching we practised, and played very well.  I played in a doubles match with Zareed, he was a great team mate.  In doubles we lost all 3 and then we played casuals.  There were a lot of close games and a lot of fun.

Ronish Walia 7K

Today we played table tennis and it was very competitive.  Me, Samdeash, Nirvaan, Zareef and Ronish played very good and nearly won.  In the first match I versed the best and lost by 1 point.  The rest of the team cooked and won all the matches.  The other team took the lead when I was playing doubles with Sam.  The score was 7-0 in their favour and the we lost 9-11.  Then Sam played a single the destroyed the other opponent.

Year 8 Table Tennis - 27th July

Table tennis was exhilarating, nerve-racking, and empowering all at once. My heart raced before every single match I played because I was never sure what to expect. When it was go time, nothing else mattered and all I could focus on was that ping pong ball. I loved that every point counted.  I became upset with myself when I lost a point, but I quickly had to remind myself to keep pushing. When I won a really intense rally, it was the greatest feeling and made me want to continue playing even harder. 

Sometimes I lost confidence in myself during matches when it was a close score, but when I heard my team cheering me on in the background, I realized that I had people who believed in me and had my back. We celebrated the wins together and learned from the losses as a team. Nobody gave up on themselves or each other during a match, even if we were losing. At the end of the day, I wasn’t solely proud of how we did, I was proud of how we fought for every point and supported each other when we needed it most. That is what made my experience so special.

Year 9 Table Tennis - 6th August

Every day of our lives are ordinary, However Today was certainly going to be special, as we packed our bags and equipment prior to venturing to Eagle stadium to have fun develop experience. As soon as we got there, we started warming up, prior tour game with tarneit -9, And guess what, we somehow won every game. After the first round, we were boosted with confidence, some of us with ego, but the main thing was that we were happy. In that same round we also tried a few different combinations for our double’s matchups. When some of us won earlier than others, we went to our remaining teammates and went to cheer them up and make sure the game was fair. Therefore, we ended 2nd, our journey was overall a fun and enjoyable experience, which will live in our memories for a long time.

Prabhnoor 9J, Harprabh 9B, Kennedy 9D

On this day we went out to Eagle stadium to play table tennis. We originally believed we wouldn’t do good; however, we shocked ourselves by reaching 2nd place. With enough hope and hard work, we managed to work our way up, yet not enough to reach 1st place. Overall we had a great team effort and a very enjoyable and memorable time.

I played table tennis, 3 games of singles. I won two games and I had fun. Everyone played very good, we showed good teamwork.

Gurkirat 9D

Year 9 Basketball - 10th August

On the tenth of august the year 9 girls went out to play basketball.  We played four games and won 2/4 games.  It was very fun we got to play against other schools.  It was good as we all collaborated and worked as a team.  Our last game was very close with only 2 point difference.

Adisyn 9F & Cicilia 9A

On the 10th of August, the year 9s went to eagle stadium to compete in interschool basketball. Throughout the day the team competed well against a variety of schools from the area. Huzaifa Mohammed was chosen by the team as the MVP of the day. The environment when Joey got up and almost dunked was electric and the crowd went wild. Also like to thank Mr Davies for coaching us and providing us with some well earnt chips. Everyone worked hard and put in the effort to represent Brinbeal.
