In The Classroom
For PE this term, the year 9 students have been engaging in a SEPEP style Netball Tournament. SEPEP stands for Sport Education in Physical Education Program. It is a student-centered curriculum model where students take charge of running their own sports competition, through a variety of roles including players, coaches, umpires, journalists, scorers, statisticians and media.
Each week students complete their own warm-ups with their teams, before talking strategy and playing in a full-sized netball game. Scores are recorded each week, and an ongoing ladder is displayed for students to track their games.

The "20x better" Barnyard Cheesy Tucks dominate on the court.
The first game hosted on the 16th of July, where the 'Barnyard Cheesy Tucks.' versed the OKC Thunders was a tense, anxious game. The match started with both teams filled with tension. When the first two quarters had finished, the two teams were at a tie: both discussing new strategies and how to win. However, the 'Barnyard Cheesy Tucks.' overtook the game when they made a miraculous lock in and won 5-2. 30 seconds before the third quarter finished, Callan, the (Barnyard Cheesy Tucks.) goal shooter, shot the score that broke the tie and led the 'Barnyard Cheesy Tucks.' to their winning streak. During the game, Cicilia was a key player who played as the centre and continued to stay focused. She continuously effectively passed back and forth and kept her head in the game.
"The 'Barnyard Cheesy Tucks.' are the best team I've seen in a while. Their swiftness and precision can't be beat. They are just twenty times better than anyone else, let alone the OKC Thunders. They never stood a chance."

MOA vs The Lakers - How we lost 1-11
Team MOA wasn't the great this week as the final score was 1-11, suffering a tough defeat against The Lakers. Although the scoreboard wasn't in MOA's favour, the game highlighted important lessons that the team can take into future matches.
The Lakers dominated from the opening whistle with strong teamwork, accurate shooting and constant communication. Their player, Aden was the player of the match after he delivered an outstanding performance. He was the team's main shooter throughout the game and consistently found ways to score, making him a difficult player to defend.
One of the biggest highlights for MOA came when Joey successfully scored the team's only goal. For a moment, the team had hope of building drive and making a comeback, but The Lakers quickly regained control of the game.
After the match, the team reflected on what could be improved. Better communication on the court and making sure everyone gets involved by passing the ball more effectively were identified as key areas to work on. Over the coming weeks, MOA plans to focus on developing stronger strategies and improving teamwork to achieve better results.

The awakening of Sigh.
The match between “Sigh.” And The Netball Warriors was a match built of suspense and teamwork. While both teams tried their best, Sigh had a heavy lead, resulting in 10-2. Sigh scoring the first 2 goals set the mood for the entire game, resulting in Netball warriors having a stronger second quarter. The player with the most impact on the court was Sienna; she supported her teams by scoring all 10 goals while also leading and directing them. She stayed consistent and was aware of her surroundings. Despite the heavy fall, the Netball Warriors had a significant impact on the court, especially key players like Taj and Kuini.
While they were disappointed and frustrated, they used this game to improve their play and become stronger for next time. Meanwhile, Sigh was delighted and celebrated their victory with a bright smile and open arms. Taj and Wahab focused on scoring and passing, in contrast Kuini confused on directing and helping her teammates to victory, well... it didn’t result in victory.
The game was amazing and a great learning experience for both teams. Both teams should use this game as a reminder of their teamwork and strategies and should try to grow and help each other.

The Great Draw
The first quarter seemed as if "The Winners", would keep their 3-0 point lead and take home the win with their dominative plays and breaking hopes of the team, Sigh.
However, to everyone's surprise Sigh came back with an amazing comeback in the last minutes of the first quarter leaving them neck and neck leading into the rest of the game. Sigh continued to score with their hyper offensive playstyle, but the lead would not stick long as the defense of The Winners constantly shut down attacks with their deadly defense that lead into the continuous counterattacks. This continuous back and forth in the second quarter continued into rest of the game staying almost level with a team leading with a point to spare sometimes.
As the game approached the last seconds Sigh was down by 1 and team exhausted from the continuous back and forth. Although we can't forget the ever-long-lasting defense was now crumbling and, in a clutch, play the Winners scored a beautiful goal in the last seconds to secure a tie of 10 on each side.
The aftermath of the left both teams exhausted and proud with their efforts. Team captain of Winners, Bhumik replied upon being questioned about his team's performance as, "Good". Although that may seem lacking considering all their efforts that summed up their match. A nail-biting match that kept the audience on the edge of their seats as the closing outcome came to a draw.
The physical prowess shown on the field was phenomenal however coach's will be wanting more out of their teamwork. Overall, the game was amazing however there will always be areas for improvement and players will be happy to know the next week's match has been canceled, letting them get to peak health and re-think some strategies.

Less Pressure more Play – The Barnyard Cheesy Tucks
On the 6 of August on Thursday, the third game between the Barnyard cheesy tucks and Money over Anything commenced. Throughout the game, the teamwork between both games was recognizable, however the gameplay from the Barnyard cheesy tucks was truly impressive. They prioritised moving into open spaces, creating distractions, and passing. With strategies as such, the BYTC paved their way to victory, with the score being 11 – 2. But with a team such as the BYTC, where the teamwork and sportsmanship are obvious, the way to victory was less pressurising and more about trying you best and having fun. This was clear in the way Aaryan, the teams Goalkeeper and Media person, cheered his team on even through missed shots. An interview featuring the goal shooter, Callan, shows him claiming that,“ As a team, we focused on creating space and passing and this lead our team to performing really well.”

Teams playing: The Big Dawgs VS Jingle Bells/Slimers
The game started off strong between the Big Dawgs and the Jingle Bells/Slimers. The Jingle Bells/Slimers came out strong, scoring 7 goals within the first quarter and creating an early lead for their team. The Big Dawgs tried to fight back and stay in the game, but the Jingle Bells/Slimers continued to dominate as the match went on. By this point, the question had to be asked: Would the Big Dawgs prevail?
The game ended with the Slimers winning by 23-8. The question of whether the Big Dawgs would prevail had been answered and settled. The following quote by their coach, Supriya, summed up the team's determination: “We strive to win no matter what”. Overall, both teams showed strong teamwork, and determination throughout the match.

Round 4
Teams playing: Master Attackers VS Jingle Bells/Slimers
Today's match was between Master Attackers VS Jingle Bells/Slimers. The Master Attackers started off well, making good passes and eventually scoring a goal to take the lead within minutes of the game. After a few minutes, the Jingle Bells eventually found their rhythm and scored a goal, making it 3-7 going into the first quarter, thus making a good comeback.
As the second quarter started, something unique happened. Abdul from Jingle Bells/Slimers got sent off for arguing with the umpire. Lucas from the Jingle Bells/Slimers stepped up and made a lot of interceptions, making a good impression. Both teams went into half-time at 5-5, making it an intense and nervous game.
At the start of the third quarter, Jingle Bells/Slimers scored first, making it 6-5. Both teams were fighting as if it were their last match and putting in a lot of effort. The Master Attackers were making good passes, thus making it clear they had pretty good tactics and chemistry, ending the third quarter on 8-6.
The teams went into the fourth quarter, where the Jingle Bells/Slimers made a quick comeback, making it a tie at 8-8. Minutes went by, and both teams were still going neck and neck. Who will win? Finally, the whistle blew, and it was still a tie, ending the game at 10-10.
